Natalia grew up all over the U.S. and Canada but has called North Carolina home for the last six years. She is completing a degree at UNC Chapel Hill in American Studies, with focuses in Folklore and Food Studies, but her main passion is Creative Writing. When she isn't daydreaming about being in the woods, Natalia is usually running around with her notebook trying to convince people to be interviewed for a story. Natalia was raised on the lakes and trails of the Algonquin forests of Quebec but had her first real taste of backpacking in British Columbia. Since then she has backpacked and mountaineered in northern California, Alaska, France, Switzerland, Nepal, and the Piedmont. Her favourite adventures include solo hiking the Haute Route through the Alps from France into Switzerland and baking pie at 13,000 feet in a family home in Nepal. She is currently working on a long term writing project to hike North Carolina's 24 historic fire lookout towers in the Smokies and interview one of 24 influential people in her life at the top of each. Other than the outdoors, Natalia's passions include storytelling, cooking, over-analyzing movies, and buying too many socks.
