Join us for a sunset kayak adventure! We will meet at the launch point 1 hour before sunset, just in time to review guidelines and equipment. Then, we will have a leisurely paddle, keeping an eye out for wildlife while we watch the sunset. Total time on the water is approximately 2 hours!
Tents and Tacos - Hanging Rock
The mountains don’t get much closer to the Triangle than Hanging Rock! Spend the night under the stars with the sounds of rushing water to put you to sleep. Choose your own level of adventure: hike to “the” Hanging Rock and then head back to enjoy an afternoon on the sandy beach or the mountain lake, or reach for the summit at Moore’s Knob - the highest point in the park - with panoramic views across central N.C. Home cooked meals and campfires await
Mt Rogers and Virginia Creeper Trail
Mt Rogers in full bloom really should be on everyone’s bucket list! The timing changes every year, but mid-late May is typically peak season for the blossoming rhododendron. In addition to hiking through the fields of wild ponies up to the highest overlook in the park, we’ll also cruise down the famous Virginia Creeper Trail Rails to Trails on bike, past old farmlands, Christmas tree farms, and mountain streams.
